Don Mattrick is a technology executive and investor whose career spans entrepreneurship, global corporate leadership, and private investment. He began his career by co‑founding Distinctive Software, which was later acquired by Electronic Arts (EA) and grew into one of the world’s largest video game studios. During his tenure at EA, Mr. Mattrick played a key role in building major franchises and was promoted to President of Worldwide Studios, overseeing the company’s global development organization.
In 2007, Mr. Mattrick joined Microsoft, where he was later appointed President of the Interactive Entertainment Business, with responsibility for the Xbox division. He subsequently served as Chief Executive Officer of Zynga, leading the company through a period of strategic transition and operational stabilization.
In addition to his corporate leadership roles, Mr. Mattrick has been closely involved in the development of British Columbia’s technology ecosystem. A former student of Simon Fraser University, he has supported connections between academia and industry through mentorship and long‑term engagement across sectors including technology, education, healthcare, and emerging fields such as quantum computing. Mattrick was made a member of the Order of British Columbia in 2024.
Mr. Mattrick is currently co‑founder and co‑president of MdGB Capital, a private company he operates with his wife, Nanon de Gaspé Beaubien‑Mattrick. MdGB Capital manages a portfolio of assets and operating companies across North America, including Photonic Inc.
Mr. Mattrick will serve as Vice Chair.
