Quantum Networking
Designed to Scale Up and Scale Out
Photonic’s quantum networking technology combines integrated, on-chip optical interconnects and fibre optic telecom networking to deliver any-to-any connectivity and remove a critical barrier to scaling to millions of qubits. The optical interconnect supports scaling up within modules and telecom networking allows cost-effective connections between modules for ever increasing computing power and the creation of secure quantum networks.
Integrated Optical Networking
The Foundation for Any-to-Any Connectivity
Native spin-photon interface for low-loss, on-chip interconnect. Photonic’s quantum computing system takes full advantage of the T centre’s direct photonic interface at telecom wavelengths to provide on-chip interconnect, chip-to-chip communications, and system networking.
Switched optical network for reliable networking at room temperature. Photonic’s quantum computer employs a switched optical architecture that incorporates silicon photonics and telecom fibre to enable on-demand entanglement both within and between modules. This networking approach provides a high-connectivity system to facilitate distributed computing.
Modular networking for unlimited scale. Photonic’s ability to network qubits across the chip and between distributed quantum computing systems enables modular computing. This enables Photonic’s architecture to scale up and scale out efficiently, cost effectively, and without sacrificing performance to deliver commercial–scale quantum computers and networks.
High-connectivity for efficient error correction and quantum code. Photonic’s quantum networking also enables the use of the most efficient error correction algorithms, such as QLDPC error correction codes, reducing the physical-to-logical qubit overhead ratio by orders of magnitude.
Distributed Entanglement for
Secure Quantum Communications
Photonic’s quantum computing and networking technology also provides the foundation for a family of network products and protocols — from quantum repeaters and switches to quantum key distribution (QKD) solutions.
